#OctoberWorldbuilders 4: Desert animals/plants Scorpions are common in the desert as are cockatrices. Oddly enough there are desiccated mangrove trees too...
#OctoberWorldbuilders 3: Desert town architecture In the Kaleenmunda Desert there are decrepit towns built in white marble. Nobody knows who built them or why they lived in a desert since the environment is unforgiving and there's no food around.
#OctoberWorldbuilders 2: Desert society The closest would be the country of Munayallpa. It is more of an arid mountain valley than a true desert, but most of their buildings are out of sandstone and they don't have many trees left.
#OctoberWorldbuilders 1: Desert Name Happy October you worldbuilders! The Kaleenmunda Desert was named by mashing the aboriginal words for water together with the word for forest. Wait... why those words for a desert?
#SeptemberWorldbuilders 30: likes in fantasy Love me ancient civilizations, powerful artifacts, found family, epic adventure, orange/purple morality, unexpected mentor, strong female characters, unique fantasy races, kindness of strangers, the cavalry arrives. So many good ones!
#SeptemberWorldbuilders 29: Fantasy media I've been reading a lot of indie fantasy recently. This year I've read 11 indie fantasy novels and 4 short stories. (last year I only read 3) I also play Dark & Darker which is a difficult dungeon looter/pvp game that deserves more love.

#SeptemberWorldbuilders 25: Sources of light In chapter 7, Aster makes his way through some ruins while it's raining outside. The rooms are well lit from somewhere in the ceiling. This is intentional. Nobody has commented on it yet.
