It’s a tough job but really amazing the impact to make. Culturally, I think about how this service is just needed. I don’t think 2002 Joslynn knew about chemistry as a career path or even thought about becoming a professor. But I’m all in now & can’t wait for tenure. 2/2

Celebrated last night receiving the Service to FLC award. Being nominated by a colleague & acknowledged by college leadership for all the efforts in reconciliation work, mentoring students, & research grants was special. I can’t believe how fast 4.25 years have passed since becoming faculty. 1/2

Tonight, our FLC RSOs hosted spooky stargazing w/funds supported by another grant I manage. Students were so excited to see a planet through the telescope!! Stories of Diné stargazing were shared. It was such a fun event! Students even mentioned missing home but were happy to connect in this space!

I got mine same day but different arms. It was a struggle 24-hr post. The injection site is still sore 3-days after.

I do talk about n for lots of topics. Maybe I go in-depth more for l and ml when it comes to orbitals. For s when I talk about magnets. They are more applied but I don’t dwell on them too much to memorize. I tell them they can look them up. Lol

I’ve had so many amazing opportunities, this is how I pay it forward. Science is cool but outdoors is also cool. Colorado is beautiful but expensive to do recreation like this. We had guides help the students & take these amazing photos. Fun now but back in the lab for many of us next week! 2/2

I have a cool job. Today, was our fall break. I write grants. This grant gets BIPOC youth to access the outdoors! Co-leaders & I took FLC students to Ouray Via Ferrata! Youth is age 0-25. It’s important to have representation outdoors. It was the first time for many to be in this space. 1/2
