To be honest, I'm not really concerned if somebody knows what TV shows I'm watching. In the same way as I'm not concerned about supermarkets knowing what I'm buying. I like privacy but neither of those sets of knowledge is going to harm me.

Such good work was done back in the day by me and others to try and restrict this happening. That consumers didn’t seem to care has meant the companies have gotten away with it. *shakes fist*
