So finally, Hideaki Anno, father of the masterpiece Evangelion, is ALSO working on a new Space Battleship Yamato animated film. What excellent news. 🚀 And it's a completely different project from the current Yamato productions. What a great way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Yamato.
I mean...I am interested to see what he brings to it--especially after seeing what he did with SHIN GODZILLA and SHIN KAMEN RIDER (haven't seen SHIN ULTRAMAN yet, though...).

Anno is a big fan so it will be interesting to see what he does. Though it will have to be extra amazing to beat Takashi Yamazaki's (Godzilla minus one) 2010 movie which is the high bar for live-action anime adaptations.
