We may not see another Jarvis-like contract any time soon as interest rates are expected to continue to fall.

The Federal Reserve cut interest rates by half a point today. Salary cap 'savings' on deferred money like Jarvis's recent contract is tied to interest rates. This rate cut it makes deferred money contracts less beneficial to teams and more painful for players so they are less likely to happen now.

The start of the 2024-25 NHL season is less than 3 weeks. The hope is to have all the basic features of The Stanley Cap up and running by then but time is going to be tight to get everything done by then.
