The most exhausting part of working in healthcare isn’t the patients. It’s far from the patients. It’s that best practice and staff are no longer up to the people practicing medicine and nursing. Instead we’ve left it to religious zealots and judges and extremist lawmakers and moneymakers

Don't forget the capitalists in health insurance companies/programs. Managed care companies specifically designed to trick people into believing they get more benefits by adding a optometry or audiology and then decimating in patient services is top of my hate list.

And the result is unnecessary human suffering and (rightful) patient anger and there is nothing that you can do about it. People go into this job, mostly, to help. To help in a shitty situation. And it’s getting harder to do that.
