To be fair, there are. It's just that they're in certain parts of the dungeons. The magla hollows are essentially that for Metaphor.
My only "gripe" with Metaphor: Refantazio is that it is not a game that you can pick up and play if you have a busy life. You can be in a dungeon/fighting a boss for hours. It's definitely the type of game you have to play when you have some time on your hands.
