I recently asked my dad, Mr. Mage, about the 1st computers and gaming systems we ever had in our house. Pre-NES. This is the KAYPRO II 64k unit with floppy disk drives. I barely remember this thing existing beyond that goofy awning lol so I must've been very young at the time
I remember these things or fairly similar models 😂
This was the first computer I remember having in the house. The Tandy TRS-80 that we affectionately called the Trash80. It had a tape drive for storage and I remember having a book that had code for games in it and I had to type them in to play them every time.
Glorious✨
the 8-Bit Guy did a good video on this unit iirc
Osborne for me. I think my dad still has the sales brochure with some dude built like Arnie lugging it around, showing that it was well portable 😂 I did end up buying a KAYPRO II as well for a bit of nostalgia.
Dude, I barely see anyone else with a KAYPRO unit. Here is my KAYPRO 2X, sadly its floppy drive I think needs to be fixed so I can't run any OS on it rn. 😅
I want to try to program something on that computer
Looks slick! But all I know about the KAYPRO is that it was Peggy Hill’s computer of choice until January 1, 2000.
Jesus, company I worked for still had these around running a program no one was allowed to touch or everything would break.
