To clarify: Even if the moderating in question wasn't overpowering at all, this statement still shows a good level of introspection that will make a good impression with long-time users. The chuds will try and claim they went too far regardless, but emotionally mature folks will understand this.

Honestly; I think they did really well with this statement. It shows they're dedicated to their position of not allowing bigotry a foot in the door, while admitting that the ensuing moderation might have been too strong in some instances.
