As a European, the thought that any artistic nudity can be considered "adult" and inappropriate for children sounds ridiculous to me. I grew up going to museums and...eh...well, Nudity was everywhere. And I didn't even see it as erotic at all when I was a kid. As I shouldn't have.
It's erotic because we are so prudish with it to be honest. I live in America and it sucks how we handle nudity.

As an American from an immigrant family that never treated nudity as inherently sexual, this is so frustrating to me too. Ever since I was a baby, I lived in a house with paintings and sculptures including nudity and it was just not a big deal. I don't know why people have to be weird about it here.
I can agree with that. There's nothing really wrong with nudity, so long as it doesn't go too far. When it becomes straight up pornography, then it would be considered inappropriate. But no, if it's just some tasteful nudity, I don't think it's wrong

In my opinion, as living in America, its a mix of body shaming and toxic masculinity of 'that's your husbands body'. Rather, that's what I grew up with. Small suits on the beach were also for 'skinny and pretty' only. It goes past all that too, belittling others to get a confidence boost. Yuck.

Not just that, but here in Scandinavia at least, back in the 80s and 90s, children's movies would often feature naked people, both grown-ups and children.

American puritanical heritage influences things in so many dumb and bizarre ways. As a native it drives me nuts. Like we can broadcast on national cable a music video that’s just shy of a porn flick or rate some of the most violent movies PG. But, Heaven forbid we accidentally show a female nipple!
