Metal Gear Solid update, about 5-6 hours in. Enjoying the challenge of figuring out boss quirks in particular, with some goofy, innovative and fun ideas already. Button mashing section, though, not great! Again, finding it more humorous than some big fans would like, but also very impressed by it.
Ahoy! I'm Thomas Whitehead and have worked as Producer for PM Studios for a couple of years. Have a combined 5+ years in publishing and before that 8 years in game journalism. Love getting to know the incredible creators of games.
Every Saturday afternoon for a couple of months I've been making this cool 'Rokr' model that's a functional printing press, just finished! Fun fact is I did a postgrad in material culture and the history of the book, and in an alternate universe I work in an academic library working with old texts.
Yeah, I need to manage my timeline way better than in the past, for sure.
Two hours into Metal Gear Solid, it really is delightful silly fun. Hardcore series fans would potentially be irritated by how often it makes me laugh (I mean come on, Revolver Ocelot's animations), but I can see why it was a revelation on PS1; the game design is fantastic so far.
Definitely the concern, but hopefully people that come across see the different vibe and embrace it.
Haha all good. Yeah we have a couple of internal studios and their games coming, but we're certainly more in the publisher camp.
Biased as I work for them, but want to pitch @pmstudiosusa.bsky.social for your list :) Our social manager is helping us join the party over here.
For sure! Definitely a fun game to write about.
Played Death Stranding a bunch and now I'm going to introduce myself to the original Metal Gear Solid because Kojima-san is evidently living rent free in my head (previously only played MGSV and the original MSX Metal Gear, which is admittedly a weird path to take).
