Statutory maternity pay — which not everyone is even eligible to claim — is significantly less than minimum wage. It’s £700ish a month. It’s NOTHING.

yep, given the pulling of research support (travel etc) that is happening even at RGs I think there's going to be considerably less enthusiasm than usual
I really do wonder what will happen to REF 2029. The worse the situation gets without any real state intervention the more REF will just be ignored by the bulk of universities. Bureaucrats and managers gaming for REF 2029 feels like fiddling while Rome burns.

its ridiculous, don't understand the instance on only announcing the relevant platform mere minutes before departure - I do get that they don't want platforms to be heaving but there has to be a better way
Absolutely, but for me, I essentially don't care what Zuckerberg thinks about the 'value' of individual ip, because of course he thinks the market rate for it is meaningless, that amount of money is meaningless to him (except when calculated in aggregate)
