Unpopular Opinion: As long as it's single player and no achievements, I think AAA games should just have a "fuck it" (almost impossible to lose/die) mode for people who can't game well enough to beat them but really want to get the storyline and experience Age + Disabilities has killed my gaming
I’ve used those just to enjoy a story replay of a game I could still beat, and yeah. Games should have them.
I would love this. Like a "let's play" video but at my own pace
A lot do now! Any game like Persona where I am there for story and characters I typically play on that mode.
Middle aged gamer here in full agreement. Also every game should have a handy cheat sheet you can access with a single button-press that just reminds you of all the key controls.
Why turn off achievements?
Only if the storyline is good enough.
I think there's a mistaken impression that people will always choose the easier option if it's available, therefore the game will be ruined? But that's just not true in practice.
Thanks for sharing! I like games where I can move long at a pace I'm comfortable and with an enjoy the story. It might help a bit that I don't consider myself a "completest" either so I don't mind if I've skipped picking up certain items!
Cheat engine, baby! I don't have the time anymore to grind out menial bullshit or waste 10 hours learning mechanics I will never use again. Unless it's Elden ring, that's kinda the point.
Watched a youtube docu about an early Sierra Robin Hood game 'conquest of the longbow' that mentions they first built this sort of skip option because a brother of one of the engineers was a quadriplegic who could only push 1 button with a stick attached to his forehead.
