i haven’t fact checked all of this yet, but the links are in there it seems Harris may have been unfairly maligned as transphobic, in the way BIPOC women get the blame for everything she’s apologized for her mistake, and may in fact be the most pro-trans presidential candidate EVER
the article linked in the original post is a members only medium article. i've copied the contents of the article under the cut to increase accessibility Kamala Harris’s Record on Trans Rights Isn’t…
cop shit. has she apologized for FOSTA/SESTA (no) also, disgustingly low bar.
Like she had shitty politics but she can fucking learn from her past mistakes
Posting this link, and a link to a through debunking thread of the situation in question. And someone who explains it much better than I can. bsky.app/profile/dian...www.advocate.com/politics/kam...
Very.
monica roberts wrote a piece on harris’ trans record a few years ago. but still i think that it’s more than justified for people to question her record on trans rights and get further details on how she “worked behind the scenes” against what she was publicly defending in court
Charlotte Clymer has adored Harris for years, I can't see Charlotte appreciating a transphobe that much.
I saw someone on Xwitter debunking the “Kamala put Black men in jail for weed” stuff too. People have been lying about her for so long I’m kind of glad that the truth has to be forced out now.
The information on her involvement in the Gwen Araujo case is correct.
Thanks Tilly, for this find, your patient replies in this thread, and for all the work you do for us!
how do you “mistakenly” argue trans women should be put in men’s prison, in court, for years?
I swear this woman was just doing whatever she was doing to better the country and did it regardless of the slander. Like “Okay I’m transphobic anyway” and did a kick flip.
