And fifteen years before that, one of the first books I was assigned as an undergraduate in the mid-70s was How to Lie with Statistics. It feels like we have forgotten a lot of what we used to teach.

As a former mathematician turned historian, if workloads were a little less overwhelming I'd quite like to run a short course for our undergrads on "thinking quantitatively in the Humanities". I feel there's some really low hanging fruit based on little more than basic numeracy.
