Further to this, my dad was telling me about a company that had "gone woke and gone broke". Turns out the company had actually been 30% bought by Vanguard, Blackrock, and Blackstone, had their labour force shafted, prices made noncompetitive, and a lot of share price bloating. Funny that.
What can we learn from deniers about climate change other than how powerful having a shit-tonne of money backing you is for amplifying your voice and delaying action? What we actually need to learn is how to make denial and soft denial untenable politically and socially.
Sure, I could lower my carbon footprint... Wait, that's a fossil fuel delay tactic. I could write to my representative... Wait, they are all captured by fossil fuel interests. I could protest in the street... Wait, my rep voted to make that illegal and deserving of a police bashing.
