My hunch is that few things would be as socially/culturally transformative as housing abundance. Confidence that whatever storms you weather you’ll be able to find a good place to stay… massive reduction in economic anxiety, overall stress levels…
I do feel like there’s a correlation between you’d only work there for obscene amounts of money and the culture being so miserable that you’d hate it anyway. To me enduring that sort of situation might be a solid definition of selling out.

My guess is old school nazis have come to believe Trump is the real deal and as a committed group are a strong enough constituency in a generally weak and extremely flaky and online coalition to feel kind of mainstream within it. They also are probably a font of enthusiasm in a creaky campaign.
