The Aggregate is predominantly populated by species with stark and elaborately patterned coats, further emphasized by a culture highly preoccupied with aesthetics and decorum. Aggregate states dominate luxury goods exports and are the primary tastemakers of the Great Compass.

Each Aggregate state is ruled by one of many princely houses, which each sees to every need of their subjects and beyond. For the majority effective serfdom is a fact of life - there is little social mobility, with the common estates pacified with luxury.
