Not only does this handsome beetle have Halloween colors, it lives a Halloween lifestyle. It's a black burying beetle (I think Nicrophorus nigrita); Nicrophorus beetles locate small bird/animal carcasses, bury them, coat them in anti-microbial saliva, then feed them to their young. ⚰️💀🍽️ #insects 🐙🌿
