Those of you who have followed me for long enough know that I have had three stages of my life at UCSF. First as a patient in the pediatric ICU after having emergency surgery for a brain tumor. Second, as an emergency medicine resident at UCSF and San Francisco General Hospital...

And third, as part time clinical faculty at UCSF doing both emergency medicine and inpatient addiction medicine consults. Which means that I have roles in both the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Medicine.
