Some perspective. 47 Labour MPs voted against Blair's benefit cuts in 1997 (for single parents) and another 100 abstained. One minister and two PPSs resigned...today's threatened revolt looks quite small in comparison....

Meanwhile Scotland’s CSA inquiry is 9 years old, with no end in sight. Without these inquiries, we could have had the necessary legislation that most countries have to protect children from cover-up of abuse 10 years ago. #mandatoryreporting@mandatenow.bsky.social

Newman understandably did the i/v given the discovery of her own image being used in fake porn. But where did she go having asked each of these two questions? It was very strange.

When Zahawi was found to have been forced to pay millions of pounds to settle a dispute with HMRC, Jenrick defended him, saying that it was a "private matter" and there had been no “inappropriate behaviour” by the former Chancellor. www.standard.co.uk/news/politic...

This "ordinary, decent" person is Jack Aaron, who previously praised brutal Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad as "gentle by nature" and described President Putin’s use of force in Ukraine as "legitimate".

In 2016 your council provided a submission to the 'Reporting and Acting on Child Abuse and Neglect' consultation. Let's hope some learning has been undertaken at RMC in the last 8 yrs bc the anti-MR responses are flawed and few if any can be supported with evidence drive.google.com/file/d/1SIxM...

There's a small hope that a step-change improvement can occur but the Govt faces the same challenges that saw the last sit on its hands. IICSA's MR proposals were risible. Presented wth empirical evidence of the effectiveness of well-designed MR of CSA, IICSA ignored it. audio.com/tom-perry/au...
