The history is somewhat different than "protests." The KDP and the NSDAP combined to destabilize Germany's (especially Berlin's streets). KPD failed to see who would most reap the benefits of such disintegration while undermining any more central-leaning potential allies/bulwarks against Hitler.

Are you implying that the KPD was deliberately collapsing German society to usher in communism? Because I think that’s a really weird way of looking at the history lol. The fact is that the KPD were first on the chopping block. They knew the Nazis were diametrically opposed to what they stood for
