My first Shovelers at Swineshaw Reservoir in Glossop. Had this strange feeling that I was obviously watching really common birds, but they're rare locally, and so I had to force myself out of duty to spend some time with them and show a bit of goddam respect!

Isn't it a shame that on days as stupidly gorgeous as this, the birding has to be so utterly piss poor 🤣

Only lived in this house since November, so my new Glossop garden list is still in its infancy. But my first Tree Pipit just came over the swingball vismig viewpoint. Compensation for having no water since 6.30 last night! #ukbirding#vismig

Hello Bluesky! Patch for the last two weeks was in Joensuu in Finland. Hit a morning of big Yellow Wagtail passage when there was a non-stop stream of birds heading south. Sky full of calls with flocks feeding on every patch of grass all over town. Must have been thousands on the move! #birding
