It's funny, I took a photography workshop at the Santa Fe Workshops last year in which we used on camera flash for various applications. Everyone else had newer Godox units or the sort. I was happy to have my SB-800. I also still use the SU-800 wireless commander. It does the job for me.
The Nikon SB-800 takes a PC sync cable. They are available used at reasonable prices. They are built to last. I've had two of them for around 20 years and they've never given me trouble. They just work. If you buy one used, make sure it comes with the soft carrying case and all the accessories.
I have two SB-800s and one SB-900. I prefer the 800s.
I hate spending money on new gear when the old stuff works great. I’ve had my SB-800 Speedlights forever. I plan to shoot them until they die.
Photographing cars is difficult for me. Finding unique perspectives is a challenge.
Fabulous!
Right there with you brother! My favorite of the bunch? The OM-2n of course, although they are all keepers.
Thanks! We sure think so.
Great set! Your instincts served you well.
