I had this debate on reddit when Daggerheart's first playtest came out. Each time I raised an issue about a rule or a mechanic, fans of daggerheart hit me back with something along the lines of, "The rules say GM can override or come up with whatever ruling that works with the fiction." Infuriating.

Yeah, I backed Rapscallion and have a lot of concerns over the mechanics from the playtest and folks were insisting that stuff like the whole magic system being undefined was intentional design 😬
