Assisting the more “responsible” wing of the OH Republicans is simply DeWine supporting his most important constituency. The cost of allowing chaos caused by the Rep. Presidential nominee to continue in a Rep. run county is much greater than a possible increase in death threats.

I disagree (though neither of us have any way to judge) that most if any of said threats are credible, and if anything this is just a retread for DeWine of his experience during 2020’s COVID restrictions.
