Thanks. But extent doesn't really tell us how much sea ice there actually is, or how thick it is. In principle, extent could be going up even as the amount of ice is going down.

What's the goal of a species? Failure implies we were aiming for something that we didn't attain. Life is just life. None of it has a goal. A sad feature of life but a feature nonetheless.
