Past issues with AMD I'm assuming. Ryzen does tend to run very hot (though so do modern Intel I believe?) so you do also want pretty good cooling

Yeah, current Intel run a bit hotter than Ryzen and have a higher TDP than Ryzen. Though that gap has closed a bit with 14th gen Intel, they still tend to suck more power and produce more heat than Ryzen. A good cooler is going to be needed either way (Noctua, Thermalright, or Scythe if going air).
