I mean they do but the downside of that is people will ONLY care about the fan service character (or at least thats what happens most of the time).

hmm so first just draw the arm normally, then draw some lines along the arm to look like bandages. once you have your arm with lines on it, you can try varying the thickness of each bandage. if that makes sense.
