Please do not tell me LLMs are a helpful part of the writing process. They circumvent the hard parts of the process--the parts we are supposed to WORK on mastering--and are opaque magic to weak writers. They erase unique student voices and cultures and replace them with bland middle class whiteness.
Please do not tell me it is a great resource for time- and resource-strapped educators. It is a corporate intrusion masquerading as a band-aid slapped onto overburdened and underfunded systems. It is part of the problem, not part of the solution.
Please do not tell me it is the employer of the future. Not only does it not create jobs, it actively destroys jobs and deskills the ones that remain.
Please do not tell me AI is inevitable. It is most certainly evitable with just a tiny bit of imagine and will.

I used to work in a _very_ small art gallery. One sleepy rainy afternoon I put frames around mundane objects on the walls--the fire alarm, a light switch, the thermostat--and added explanatory art labels. Many interesting conversations happened. I love this BlobTO.art project!
