This is my excuse for every time I prep her as a backup character for tabletop. She got lost and now she's in Pathfinder. Or Shadowrun. Or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I love this idiot a lot.
The part where she is incontrovertibly stupid is important here, as she is convinced she just doesn't have a good head for directions. As far as she thinks, she has never left her home 'dimension', she's just gotten lost many, many times.
This is important, as Madeline has a habit of getting lost. It's not even her fault, really. She's an accidental dimensional traveller. Madeline has gotten lost in a port-a-pottie, in that she emerged after doing business in a completely different world, outside a completely different toilet.
This isn't to say she's beyond reasoning, morality, or incapable of speech, she is just unable to get past basic logic. For one: she knows the basics of taking care of her bird! She 'owns' a chocobo (yellow 'hybrid') named Cup Noodle. It has the unique ability of always being able to find her.
Madeline is also: Dumb as hell. She is 'classed' as a Samurai but in terms of actual expected behavior or any culture it might be related to, she is clueless. If it is not related to fighting or a combat style she is barely able to reach a basic understanding.
She loves fighting and weapon collecting - it is literally her whole deal where she will beat up people and take their weapons in an attempt to emulate a Certain FF Character, but doesn't understand it's about collecting powerful weapons, so shes got hundreds of trash swords in a cart.
It's Her Madeline is... Well to start, her ref is by @gumshoejump.bsky.social Madds is my strongest character that originally was made for a FFD20 game, since ended. I have made literal gods for a pantheon for my Pathfinder games and goofier god ocs just for casual use. She clears all of them.
