I've never had one but I've heard that. I mean, an army marches on it's stomach and all that, they've had a vested interest in improving that so I'd trust it for sure

Don't know about the American ones, but the Dutch ones had a fair selection of filling stuff and a reasonable hot meal in a can

They're very divisive, people will get pretty into swapping around for their preferred flavor, but I think a large part of that is that it's allowed so it becomes a ritual thing. Most of the flavors of MRE are Perfectly Fine, Actually.
