No matter how scary you think Trump will be when he loses it's not nearly as dangerous as if he EVER holds power again.
In an ideal scenario, as soon as the election is called, Judge Merchan could reel him in for violating his probation and tuck him away somewhere quiet until his sentencing. That would make some heads explode!
If he wins the 2024 election there will not be a 2028 election.
The lesson Trump learned from 2020 is that he needs loyal people at the pentagon/AG/FBI next time. People who are willing to do whatever he wants, no matter the legality, morality, etc. He will deport millions, he will shoot protestors, intimidate American voters with the full might of the fed gov.
It's hard to overstate what a terrible thing it would be for the entire world. Xi and Putin are very bad men but they're not rambling morons who are out of their minds. Not even Putin is seriously going to launch nukes but Trump? Fuck knows, man.
If he wins, it will be as big a stain on our national character, judgement, whatever, as any unjust war we ever waged. We never actively voted those in.
Someone on my timeline was all "it's not enough to win the election" 1) yes it fucking is 2) what's the alternative?
A loud man with no real power doesn't scare me. If he loses what will he do? Not be president? OoOooh. Scary.
Is there anyway we can pin this to the Bluesky opening page? If I could I’d hire skywriters to create this over every major city!
i think the scariest thing about trump is that he gets weaker and weaker, mentally, physically, and emotionally with every passing day. that means if he gets into the oval office, he will be at his most unhinged, able to simply executive action away so many of his problems b4 going after his enemies
