14th century. Germany. Imps are demonic monsters known across Central Europe for causing mischief and mayhem, but rarely are they a danger to humans. Imps are described as being small and thin, with pointed ears, curved horns, long forked tails, and occasionally ribbed wings. Imps are wild and uncontrollable creatures, even playing tricks on those they would consider friends, but their free spirit can be tamed by supernatural entities more powerful than themselves. Witches and Warlocks have been known to keep Imps as their familiars, binding their souls to a magical artifact. One story tells of two Imps sent by Satan himself to do evil deeds on Earth. When the duo made their way to the Lincoln Cathedral in England they were confronted by an Angel, who demanded the Imps cease their rampage. The prideful Imp stood in defiance of the Angel and began to throw stones, before being turned to stone itself, giving the cowardly Imp time to escape.
