I love Jennifer Berg's stuff. It's so beautiful, and made available by her to others. I appreciate the way she incorporates traditional motifs with her own take into a different craft in a way that makes it feel like a tribute. I'm working on one of her sweater patterns right now.

Going to the post office is my *least* favorite errand. I couldn't even tell you why, it's really not that bad objectively. My post office is even pretty quiet so it's never a long wait. But I hate it and will put it off for ages.

“oh u don’t understand, brando sando is an ally, he doesn’t believe that stuff” does he tithe?

If he doesn't tithe, he's not a member in good standing. He totally tithes. That's why I won't buy his books, I don't care if he has since paid lip service to having "evolved" his views on LGBTQ+ issues, the church sure as fuck hasn't and he's paying them 10% of his income. More than lip service.

Blessed be the memory of Tinu Abayomi-Paul. Activist. Writer. Parent. Daughter. Killed by long covid, cancer, and systems that just don’t care enough about the most vulnerable of us. Her powerful legacy lives on. @tinu.bsky.social#rip

In loving memory Atinuke Abayomi-Paul. 52 wonderful years. Smiling portrait of Tinu, a Black woman with a lovely round face, wearing glasses.

this thread tho

i don't understand this economy when nursing homes are so expensive they bankrupt our grandparents but nursing home aides need to use food banks.

daycare is so expensive it eats up one parent's entire paycheck and yet daycare providers only make $10/hr and need second jobs.

Definitely, just wanted to add the caveat that if you're just seeing this now, and you were bitten by a bat two weeks ago, still totally worth getting PEP. :D

Might sound terrible & cruel, but that *is* the *best* choice from a public health perspective, so keep your pets up to date & you won't have to worry about it. Or at least know you're taking a risk. My cat is 19 & I decided risk outweighs benefit at this point, so her rabies is out of date.

Also, a good place to remind people to make *sure* your pets are up to date on their rabies vaccinations. Even if they're an indoor only cat. The health department in most states can and will take your pet, kill it, and test it for rabies if they are potentially exposed and not up to date on vax.

In many states, the level of evidence required for the state to fund rabies testing and rabies PEP has to do with how recently they've lost someone to rabies and under what circumstances.
