When my Whippet puppy was spayed this week I got a plastic cone from the vet. I didn't keep it on her very long. It's just too sad when a Sighthound can't see where they're going. I decided to keep a close eye on her inside to prevent licking.

A couple of years ago my dog had to have stitches in her cheek. We got the "elizabethan" cone. She shook her head until it broke. We too decided to just keep an eye on her (even though the stitches cost $600).
