Here's a list of real nature photographers posting their own work, who make their images accessible with Alt Text. I love that Bluesky values actual people and not those image stealing accounts. This is just to get you started, there are tons more great photographers here! 🌿 #birds 🧪

Spent most of yesterday at Last Mountain Lake Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Established in 1887 for the protection of water fowl, it's the oldest in North America. We visit in spring and fall to take in the sounds and sights of migration, both large and small #birds#invertebrates

View down a green grass trail through tall brown grass toward a flat horizon under a vivid blue sky with wispy white clouds
Dozens of snow geese fly by against a bright blue sky
Golden fuzzy caterpillar on gravel
Distant view of a couple of hundred sandhill cranes standing in a shallow prairie wetland

If you'd like to support me going to more events like this and not just doing fun social media threads, but working with other people on the ground and perhaps even getting back into the swing of long-form write-ups, you can huck me money for my metro card and a hamburger.

a venmo thing for "Outer Heaven SEP IRA" for the user @Bee_Eater

It looks like a smiling Kazuhira Miller is in the middle there

On my way, the thread begins now! I'll be arriving a bit later than the start for reasons of walking up to the bus stop the moment my bus pulled away, but we're heading in, gamers.

A lot of people think of western Kansas (and the Great Plains in general) as a dry, desolate place. That wasn’t always the case thanks to beavers! Time for a quick thread! 1/? 🌏🌿🦊🗃️
