It's frustrating to see. TBH if we were to draw parallels between AI and social justice, I'd say the behavior of AI bros is similar to cultural appropriation: stealing the labor of others, stripping it of all attribution, then using it for their own purposes? yeah...

I do think there are some people who legitimately believe talent and creativity are rare gifts one is born with. So much of the AI discourse is by people who have never actually done creative work themselves and so don't actually get what the processes are.

The phrase "politically correct" comes to mind. A way of papering over a disdainful opinion for the appearance of neutral discourse instead of speaking that garbage from the chest.

Like, of course they're just regurgitating terms from social justice, disability, or therapy with no idea of the frameworks, contexts, or requisite expertise behind them because that's exactly what they do to art already. It's all they know how to do.
