This is unhinged! If someone pays you pennies for a page, you would not be providing free promotion, an entirely different job and set of skills, by the way!!! These people are so unserious.

IDW’s new payment plan for creators is exposure? If this is true that per-page budget is insanity. Also- young creators out there. Publishers who pay an insulting page rate with the assurance you’ll make great royalties are lying.

Let's say the pretense of having authors-artists work like sales agents sans commission wasn't on my 2024 bingo card. But hey as the anormal forcedly becomes the new normal, it's like *pretends to be shocked* 🤦‍♂️

Do they not realise that like Investing their resources as a company into properly promoting the works is not just a basic part of the exchange of a publishing agreement, but also supports their return in publishing the works? I guess the obvious answer is that they don't even care about --
