The upgrade was comparing my existing 1817+ with an Atom prof to the 923+ with the AMD proc. I did 32gb ram, no nvme yet. Prob nvme for storage instead of cache if I do.

You can actually install Veeam backup and Replication on Windows 10/11 - not required to be a server OS. Helpful for homelabs!

😂 I’m on 7 now. Last used iSCSI when I was on 6.7. NFS has been solid for me. Have a new cluster that I’m going 8 on with vSAN ESA with some Optanes.

I noticed on iSCSI it seemed to stop after long periods of uptime and host reboots would correct it (6.7). For NFS and VAAI here’s the link for the drivers for 6.7 and 7. Works well! www.synology.com/en-us/releas...

You do NFS or iSCSI? I’ve found NFS to be more performant and iSCSI randomly stops using vaai
