for folks using custom domains; set up a side account that reserves "[username].bsky.social" ⚠️otherwise, that name becomes free for others to use if you're curious about how to obtain a custom handle, go to your settings > change handle > "I have my own domain"
I didn't think of this, not really worried about someone taking it, but it is easy enough to do so thank you for the advice. Only downside of using a custom domain, I now need to update the empty four year old blog that lives there now... 😅

Can someone please tell me what the benefit of doing this would be? I saw tweets yesterday saying that bsky is cool bc people are websites and i have a feeling they were referencing something like this main tweet. (I’m also not an artist or small business, just genuinely curious)
is it big for fake accounts or just awko?
