i feel like there's a bit of a limiting factor, especially in the face of the whole "Nasapunk" aesthetic Todd seems to like. like, there should be more of an effort to embrace cylinders, spheres and trusses, etc in their design ethos. just think slapping engines on the ISS.i feel like there's a bit of a limiting factor, especially in the face of the whole "Nasapunk" aesthetic Todd seems to like. like, there should be more of an effort to embrace cylinders, spheres and trusses, etc in their design ethos. just think slapping engines on the ISS.

ALL the habs have the same dimensions, barring aesthetic choices from the differing manufacturers, fundamentally they're all the same. Limiting players in how their ships ultimately look. sure you can get creative, but in reality? there's only so much you can do.ALL the habs have the same dimensions, barring aesthetic choices from the differing manufacturers, fundamentally they're all the same. to put it succinctly: one of the smallest ships in STO are of course, Klingon birds of prey, at about 105 meters or so in length. Starfield's playable ships top out at 80. again i feel the modular nature of the builder limits it. or rather how the modules are built. bear with me:to put it succinctly: one of the smallest ships in STO are of course, Klingon birds of prey, at about 105 meters or so in length. i mean it's clear to me that the basic gist of Starfield's spacecraft were inspired by Starwars, given the milennium falcon fits neatly in that grid.i mean it's clear to me that the basic gist of Starfield's spacecraft were inspired by Starwars, given the milennium falcon fits neatly in that grid.

actually, the ships being limited to an 80m "cube" seems entirely too small to me, especially if you wanna sell the scifi-ness of a setting. granted the size seems entirely plausible for landing in a civilian pad, having an absolute chungus of a spaceship means outside landing, y'know?actually, the ships being limited to an 80m "cube" seems entirely too small to me, especially if you wanna sell the scifi-ness of a setting. granted the size seems entirely plausible for landing in a civilian pad, having an absolute chungus of a spaceship means outside landing, y'know?

actually, it all kinda reminds me of something and in all honesty they should totally go there.actually, it all kinda reminds me of something and in all honesty they should totally go there.

hell, even tying in the nature of grave drives, the va'ruun, unity, the artifacts, void, and so on would make a really funky esoteric rabbit hole which would suggest the why the originators of the artifacts themselves don't exist, and so forth.hell, even tying in the nature of grave drives, the va'ruun, unity, the artifacts, void, and so on would make a really funky esoteric rabbit hole which would suggest the why the originators of the artifacts themselves don't exist, and so forth.

a lotta places in starfield seems odd to me (like the game is interestingly sparsely populated considering its lore), but Neon seems the most fascinating lore wise. you telling me there aren't other big fishing platforms on the planet?a lotta places in starfield seems odd to me (like the game is interestingly sparsely populated considering its lore), but Neon seems the most fascinating lore wise. you telling me there aren't other big fishing platforms on the planet?

also some stuff in space, like EVA type shit. Power armor (for hazardous environs) Earth Ruins that are *interesting* basically other things that aren't the typical fare we're getting now. Like this? this is venus.. you know, the planet that scrunched russian probes with its air pressure?also some stuff in space, like EVA type shit. Supposedly Venus, ala starfield.
