You're equating the 2 wrong things. You need to compare emissions with the sequestration of CO2 from the atmosphere by the plants involved in the whole biogenic cycle. Soil carbon arising from root exudation by those plants is a very small fraction of that. Of course it doesn't 'add up'.
In the UK there has been an increasing financial disincentive to switch because Ofcom has loaded energy price increases onto electricity. While renewable electricity is now cheaper than ever to produce the differential in the consumer price/kWh has risen from 3x to about 5x that of gas.

Ah, I see someone in the media is complaining about Bluesky being an echo chamber. If being able to moderate what I see and don't see on my feed is being in an echo chamber, then that is fine by me.
The freedom to choose what you listen to is just as important as freedom of speech. There are no other social media as they were originally intended. They have all developed into broadcast media swamped by misinformation which users have no control over.
