I learned this week that my PhD advisor, Jasper Wall, has passed away. I think often of those who say how toxic their advisors, are how bad their PhD time is, to me it was one of most important & happy times of my life and likely a lot do to my excellent mentorship. I was so lucky & feel very sad š

Astro šsometimes weāre burnt out and over worked and wonder why. I spent last week at a resort at a mountain in the alps, talking cool science, eating fondue , walking on a glacier and times like that I canāt believe this is my job and just get paid for this stuff

Oh a fresh snow, especially early in the seasonā¦ itās hard to describe. As a child youāre sledding or older youāre at a fireplace with a sweater and a hot chocolate and itās cozy and calming in a weird way.
It seemed so normal to me and then meeting people here whoāve never even seen snow, blows my mind
