We had a total one in SC like 5 years ago and the birds and bugs all got quiet and the bats came out, it was very surreal. Then the bats all hauled ass back home seconds later, very confused I assume.

I remember that one. A group of us went to Salem Oregon which was in the path of totality. When everything turned dark the birds went quiet & a cold wind blew through. The neat thing is that we were at an organized event, and they had taiko drummers to drum the Sun back.
