Musk says a lot of shit that never happens but if or when he neuters blocking running a locked account and only posting infrequently if at all is quite literally the best safety measure left on the site (and something i kinda wish was on bsky too if we're being honest, but that's a diff. matter)

Allegedly, the names are freed up after a while so they can be reused, and accounts that haven't been touched in 30 days are "archived"; but it doesn't seem to be happening to most people. It's still a good idea to park and check up on it every 20-25 days just in case. help.x.com/en/rules-and...
