What next? A Ric Flair bio pic needs to happen right away. That is a wealth of content and storylines. Emphasize the wrestlers he worked with and how they helped him become a bigger star (Race, Steamboat, Rhodes, Horsemen)
Takeaways: There was a LOT to cover and I think this movie did a good job of covering as much as they could. It was hit/miss depending on what viewers wanted. For example, I would have liked more interaction with other wrestlers but I understand thats not for everyone.
The Ugly: They totally struck out with Ric Flair. He acted more like Baby Billy from The Righteous Gemstones than the Nature Boy. Kevin's hair. It got better as the movie went on, but it starts really bad.
The Good: Holt McCallany was amazing. He was the standout performer IMO. Oscar worthy. Harris Dickinson completely captured David. Dark horse performance. The wrestling they showed looked solid. Chavo was the consultant and it shows. Quick glimpse of Gino and Bruiser. They looked authentic.
Might need a custom solution to show my old posts from Spoutible, Mastodon, BlueSky, Instagram. Being able to choose a specific day would be a bonus. Any ideas?
