Never forget the time I tried to explain bonfire night to American colleagues and all the brits suddenly started chanting "REMEMBERREMEMBER THE FIFTHOF NOVEMBER GUNPOWDER TREASON-AND-PLOT" and they looked discomfited & started backing away.
We get extremely Wicker Man this time of year.
Saw some photos of Lewes the other night that were fine in context but could imagine looking super dodgy otherwise
my understanding is it's basically as noisy as our Independence Day, but came about for very different reasons and also has bonfires.
