Campaign obviously bet the house on the "unity" play. They people dedicated to polling that must be getting the message that it's winning people over. Those of us that stopped talking to most conservatives about politics since 2016 hopefully live in a bubble & that's why we can't grasp the strategy

Or they know there's no more votes to be won on the left, unless Kamala promised something BIG like an end to aid to Israel. If centrist normies can be won over with vague promises of bipartisanship, that's a lot easier.
