I have a question, and it's from a genuine place. We are neurodiverse family. We have friend who is 'I'm pretty sure X is neurodiverse'. Now here's the thing, X has no signs of being neurodiverse do you stay stum and just nod, or would you question it? #neurodiversity

Home education is a privilege. Home education also requires sacrifice and effort. Home education is both rewarding and exhausting. It is good for some and not for others. Both things can be true. #EduSky#homeEd#homeeducation

It's only for the rich. Busting today's home education myth. Whilst there will be some costs with home ed, mainly the snacks required, you don't have to be rich to do it. There's lots of ways to home ed on a budget. See comments below. #EduSky#homeEd#homeeducation#learningathome.

Myth four, it's expensive and only for the rich.
In fact home education can cost less than school, no uniforms, PE kits, dinners or expensive trips to pay for. There's lots of free or cheap resources online and off. You can still work, be self employed, use childminders or access help from other home ed families making anything possible.

💯 Every time the media quotes a home ed case, the children are already known to the services. Home education should not, on its own, be seen as a red flag.

I know many argue that the register is needed to ensure safeguarding. However, legislation already exists for safeguarding. I think there is also the issue that it's not just about a register it's about saying how education should look. #EduSky#homeEd#homeeducation

The children not in school register plans on including home educated children. This is not correct! Share our research with your MP and ask them to support us but not supporting the CNiS register, or at least to argue that home ed kids should not be on it. #EduSky#homeeducation#homeEd

Home education register can be stopped with your help!
Educational Freedom have carried out extensive research you could share with your MP.
Write to them and explain how the proposed children not in school register will not do what they hope it will do and instead will cause home educators problems. Ask them to read our research document and that you hope they will support you and the community. Explain that home educated are in education and should not be included in the register

Day three on our myth busting. A classic this time 'They won't be able to get a job!' This isn't true. When a person has a dream to do something, they will find a way to do it. #EduSky#homeEd#homeeducation#learningathome#selfdirectededucation#learningathome

Home education myth 3: they won't get a job or be able to go to university.
No door is closed to a home educated child, GCSEs, A-levels, degrees, vocational courses etc. are all available. As is work experience and apprenticeships. A teen that wishes to follow a career, ear money or learn more will do what is needed to achieve that goal.

One key recommendation for anyone new to home education is thermal trousers! Essential for the UK autumn, winters, and this year, even summer! If you're anything like us, you'll be out in almost all weather. Get the thermal pants. #EduSky#homeEd#homeeducation#learningathome#sde#interestled
